With the increased penetration of DVRs and clients looking for creative ways to weave their products and services into television shows and movies outside of the commercial break, product placement has been gaining traction as a popular form of advertising.
In the past, product placements were either integrated into a locally produced show or had to have the backing of a national client with a large budget to be considered. Today, however, the popularity of Virtual Placement is making its way to the local market.
Each year I look forward to reading the list of the Most stressful jobs in America, which is compiled by CareerCast.com (I guess I like to see if I know anybody who works in a field on the list). When creating this list, CareerCast.com looks at 11 factors that can cause stress on the job, including work environment, job competitiveness, physical demands and opportunity for advancement. It then ranks 200 professions by how these factors influence the average workday.
On April 16th, 2011 I stood with nearly 35,000 people in complete silence as the national anthem roared from a trumpet outside Sun Devil Stadium to commemorate the Arizona native and fallen soldier Pat Tillman.
Pat is often referred to as “Arizona’s Favorite Son”. He was a linebacker for the ASU Sun Devils and went on to play professional football with the Arizona Cardinals. In 2002, Pat Tillman proudly put his NFL career on hold, and walked away from a $3.6 million dollar contract, to serve his country. This decision was just one of many he made over the course of his lifetime to help others and serve a cause greater than his own self-interest. Following Pat’s death in 2004, while serving with the U.S. Army’s 75th Ranger Regiment in Afghanistan, his family and friends established the Pat Tillman Foundation.

Over the past month, E.B. Lane organized an office Oscars pool, and opened it up to others in our community as well. We worked with some of our local reps to gather some great prizes as incentives for participation.
Baseball has long been viewed as America’s favorite pastime and for good reason, as it brings together dedicated fans from all over the country. No matter the team, we gather together for nine innings of camaraderie, peanuts and ice cold beers, rooting on our favorite teams and players.
