Creating a 3D environment for Lottery winners.

August 8, 2011

Clearly, the Arizona Lottery has a long history of celebrating their winners. Whether a huge Powerball or Mega Millions jackpot, a Millionaire Raffle celebration, or a Scratchers ticket that wins on the spot, the Lottery takes every opportunity to share these stories.

But what about all the other winners? The ones who may not grab the headline-grabbing millions, but take home a cash prize that makes life all the sweeter?

Well, then – behold the Arizona Lottery Hall of Winners, my friends. An original campaign concept developed by E.B. Lane in partnership with Lopez Negrete Communications, the Hall of Winners focuses mainly on the wins that literally happen every day – from a few bucks to a few thousand. Our goal was to show that the Arizona Lottery cheers for each and every victory, even commemorating them for all eternity within an actual 3D Hall of Winners environment created exclusively for this campaign.

Directed by Anibal Suarez of Original Film, the Hall spots follow the moments of victory for lucky Arizona Lottery players. As they celebrate, we see that these winning moments are memorialized in the Hall, either as a statue or a classic painting (the Hall does have many wings, after all).

Over a half-mile long (per wing) and containing countless Arizona Lottery winning moments, the actual Hall environment was brought to life by Rob Beadle and his team at Copper Post. To render the complex imagery, Rob employed a few hundred computers in Los Angeles and New York, ensuring the sort of detail that would make the Hall as believable as the view out your window.

But don’t take our word for it. Click on the three spots to check them out.

What are some examples of other 3D commercial work that you like? And what would your winning moment look like in the Hall?
