Pressure and challenges – we face them every day in this business. They keep it interesting; keep you on your toes. But even after being in advertising for many years now, there is still one thing I find incredibly intimidating. It’s having to come up with a costume for Halloween when I’m surrounded by ridiculously creative people!
There is just no way to compete with Kelly Roger’s creative makeup and outfits or Dave Klein’s humorous concepts. And those are just two examples; we have a whole company full of them! No, I have to rely on something other than artistic or conceptual talent. I’ve scoured the costume shops and wracked my brain every year, and after dismissing each lame idea, in the end all I can turn to is irony.
So, my more notable contributions to Halloween costuming have been dressing up as Mrs. Santa Claus two months ahead of time (on the hottest Halloween on record, I might add!) and coming as the chain-smoking Cruella DeVille the year we did the “Cold Turkey” campaign for the anti-smoking initiative.

What will I do this year? Well, I’m still intimidated and at a loss. I think I’ll come as a nervous wreck (could be cute).
