Having just visited the iconic Tropicana Las Vegas hotel twice since January, even I was ‘wowed’ by the metamorphosis at every turn upon arriving Memorial Day weekend for the biggest splash of the summer, the grand opening of Nikki Beach Las Vegas. Amidst the Strip’s salacious glam, a nearly $200 million transformation is definitely enough to make you look twice.
Tropicana has long been known in Vegas for its more-than-average lush pool area. But the addition of Nikki Beach tosses it in the ring to compete with the weekend wild beach parties where dress code mandates plenty of skin.
Tropicana is home to the thirteenth and largest Nikki Beach in world. Patterned after the original located in South Beach, Las Vegas now has the same sultry vibe Nikki Beach brings to other destinations, such as St. Tropez, Cabo San Lucas and St. Barths.
Any pool can have private cabanas, but only Nikki Beach can boast tee-pee cabanas. And from what I hear, what goes on in the tee-pee, stays in the tee-pee.
Stars, cars and everything white made for appropriate fashion at the red carpet grand opening, Luxury White Party. With the invitation whispering, “Tell Only Your Best Friends,” Trop owner, Alex Yemenidjian invited his closest 2000+. And lucky us, we were included.
It’s not every day our job allows us to get this close to the stars. And not just any star. We’re talking about one tennis legend you’ve worshipped since he donned that classic headband and mullet!
