E.B. Lane has been working on a Light Rail Wrap for the Shift The Way You Shop campaign on behalf of Local First Arizona along with a new mobile device compatible website. Now in its second year, the Shift The Way You Shop campaign has been tremendously successful, it has:
- Helped Local First Arizona grow by 375 new members
- Increased traffic to the Local First Site via the Shift AZ site by 17,308 unique visits
- Helped Local First Arizona get Arizonans to pledge $40 million dollars on the site (indicating the amount Arizonans pledged to make a shift to local)
The Shift Arizona mobile device compatible website is now live and accompanies the wrap as the driver for the call-to-action. It helps Light Rail riders identify local businesses of interest near each Rail stop. The site and the wrap launch today (Tuesday October 11). The wrap will be on the train for the next four months accompanied by interior signage in the train.
In addition, E.B. Lane has helped Local First Arizona concept a series of ride-along events with local “celebrities” on the Light Rail to create buzz around the launch of the site and wrap. Here’s the info from Local First on the events scheduled:
As part of the launch we have invited a few well-known people to join us on the rail for a quick stop at two of their favorite stations where we will visit a few stores and restaurants while talking about all the cool stuff around the rail. I ask each of you to check you calendars to see if by chance you can join us. Information is below- please come on out and see the wrap!
1. In Tempe with Council Member Shana Ellis. Wed Oct 12th at 5 PM- meet at the Dorsey/Apache Station and ride into downtown- we will visit Canteen (a hip new bar from the owners of LaBocca), Here on the Corner, a boutique featuring many local artisans, and House of Tricks, who will provide fruit and cheese for all
2. In Phoenix with Council Member Tom Simplot Tues Oct 18th at 5 PM- we haven’t identified the meeting place yet, but I will let you know- we will be stopping at Central and Osborn and touring the One Lexington condos- which are soooo cool- and then heading to Central and Adams to see the new Crescent Ballroom music venue and Hanny’s for food and drink.
3. In Phoenix with Craig DeMarco, co-owner of Postino and Windsor- Thurs Oct 20th we will meet at 5 PM at the Phoenix Public Market- learn more about Food Truck mania and then head back to Central and Camelback to visit Churn and Windsor and learn more about the newly formed Uptown Business Coalition.
If any of you have interest in attending the ride-along on Wednesday October 12th let me know as I will be heading there and would love for you to join.
