Stick with Local.

May 27, 2010

You know that need to share a picture, thought or experience with someone or anyone when the moment strikes you? It’s strikes me often – especially in my own Downtown Phoenix backyard. It’s a playground for curious foodies, art lovers, indie music fans and general discoverers. It’s also a community that supports and fosters independent businesses, which is why we at E.B. Lane love everything downtown and everything local.

In partnership with Local First Arizona, we are trying to capture and share some of these experiences with others in the digital space. Here’s how it works:

1. You download the Stickybits app for free on any iPhone or Android phone.

2. You scan the barcode (barcode above) which is unique to Downtown Phoenix venues that are local and amazing.

3. You add your video, music, copy or photo content and share with others.

If you happen to see an exhibit you love, like Jonathan Howards’ at Modified Arts, you scan the barcode at Modified and share with others. The same goes for the amazing mango mojito at Carly’s Bistro, an impromptu art performance on the street during Phoenix First Fridays, and so on. Wherever you see the barcode, scan it right there and share.

Whether you’re just beginning to explore our amazing community here downtown or have been for years, it’s always great to hear from the locals where all the fab places are to see and go. So Stick with Local, scan the barcodes you see around First Friday venues this upcoming June 4th and share.

Quick update. Check out what Azcentral had to say about the campaign here: http://bit.ly/bXpDOG

While you’re at it, share your local faves in the comments below. We’ll make sure they’re on our list for the future.
