The EBL Art Show Playlist: Toy Bombs.

March 21, 2011

If you happen to be driving past our Hacienda on McDowell Thursday night, ROLL DOWN YOUR WINDOW! You may catch the melodies from indie band, Toy Bombs, the music featured at the EBL Art Show. Based in Los Angeles, Toy Bombs is making Phoenix the last stop of its seven-city tour after performing in Austin, Las Vegas, San Francisco and San Diego.

So how did Toy Bombs cross paths with EBL, you ask? Well, I suppose you could say the lead guitarist and vocalist, Brandon McBride, is the “creative out-put” and son of Melanie McBride, vice president and director of EBL public relations. The fun of listening to Toy Bombs’ music, influenced by Rolling Stones, Beatles, Bob Dylan and The Kinks is only outdone by watching the band perform live. It’s sure to be a rockin’ great time for all!

Independent of a record label, Toy Bombs has played major festivals and concerts, including SXSW, Sundance Film Festival and NYC’s CMJ Festival. Toy Bombs was chosen by Billboard and TAXI as the No. 1 independent band in the western U.S. Toy Bombs has also been able to share the stage with great artists, such as Snow Patrol, Ben Kweller, Voxtrot, Why?, Sea Wolf, St. Vincent, Dan Deacon and Ladybug Transistor, among others.
